POSMETRO.ID | DAIRI – The Fun Run event organized by the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) of Dairi Regency on Sunday (November 9, 2025) was a resounding success, drawing great enthusiasm from the public. A total of 1,100 participants from 20 districts and cities gathered to take on the 5-kilometer route through the heart of Dairi City.
The event was officially flagged off by Dairi Regent Ir. Vigner Sinaga, accompanied by the Vice Regent, following the singing of the national anthem, Indonesia Raya.
Also in attendance were the Dandim 0206 Dairi, the Chairman of the Dairi Regional House of Representatives, local government officials, heads of BPC HIPMI from Tapteng, Humbahas, Medan, Tobasa, HIPMI Dairi, and the Chairman of DPC GRIB Dairi, along with other invited guests.
Chairman of BPC HIPMI Dairi, Dr. Kevin Simanjuntak, explained that each participant was required to submit a health certificate upon registration. Student participants paid a registration fee of IDR 55,000, which included a jersey, medal, e-certificate, and sponsored products.
To ensure the safety and smooth running of the event, 120 Dairi Police personnel, 50 Transportation Agency officers, and 70 organizing committee members were deployed along the 5-kilometer route. Additionally, five ambulances and five medical personnel were on standby throughout the race. Participants also competed for 40 podium prizes in four categories, and one electric motorbike was given away as the grand door prize.
Dr. Kevin emphasized that beyond promoting fitness, the event aimed to strengthen ties among HIPMI members, local government, sports communities, and the wider public.
“We hope this event will become a platform to introduce HIPMI’s role as a community of young entrepreneurs who are active, creative, and committed to regional development — not only in the economic field but also in social and sports activities,” he stated.
He further noted that the Fun Run also serves to promote a healthy and productive lifestyle while boosting the local economy, especially benefiting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in culinary and tourism sectors during the event.
“We want to build a positive image of Dairi as a friendly, active, and potential-rich region. We hope this event will also serve as a platform to promote our tourism and cultural diversity,” Kevin added.
Looking ahead, HIPMI Dairi plans to make the Fun Run an annual signature event.
“We envision this event becoming a regular celebration that grows bigger every year and is eagerly anticipated by the public — a symbol of collaboration and creativity among Dairi’s youth,” he remarked.
In closing, Kevin outlined HIPMI Dairi’s vision of fostering a healthy, solid, and innovative generation of young entrepreneurs who actively contribute to the social and economic development of Dairi Regency.
“Through this Fun Run, we aim to strengthen connections among members, the community, and local government in a positive, sporty, and energetic atmosphere,” he concluded.
