    – Thousands of residents flooded Alun-alun Merdeka Square on Friday night (October 17, 2025), as colorful lights, rhythmic music, and glowing costume parades transformed the heart of Lubuklinggau City into a sea of creativity. This was the grand celebration of the Silampari Night Carnival 2025 — an iconic cultural event and one of the city’s premier tourism attractions.

The spectacular event was officially opened by Mayor H. Rachmat Hidayat and Deputy Mayor H. Rustam Effendi, in front of an enthusiastic crowd eager to witness the dazzling performances.

In his speech, Mayor Rachmat Hidayat emphasized that the carnival was not merely a form of entertainment, but a reflection of the city’s unity and creative spirit.

“Let us use this 24th Anniversary of Lubuklinggau as a moment to strengthen our unity, revive the spirit of cooperation, and nurture our love for this beloved city. With togetherness and hard work, I believe Lubuklinggau will continue to move forward and shine brightly toward greatness,” he declared, greeted by loud applause from the crowd.

A stunning display of Silampari-themed creative costumes dominated the main streets of the city — from traditional designs fused with modern art elements to illuminated parades symbolizing the cultural richness and innovation of Lubuklinggau’s people. Every step of the participants reflected the spirit of “Lubuklinggau: Progressive, Creative, and Cultural.”

The festive atmosphere grew even livelier as local art communities, students, and small business owners showcased their talents and products before the spectators. The event also gave a strong boost to the local economy, with dozens of food and craft stalls packed with visitors from neighboring regions.

The celebration was attended by the Lubuklinggau Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), City Secretary H. Trisko Defriyansa, Chairwoman of the Family Welfare Empowerment Movement (TP PKK) Hj. Risca Priba Ayu, Chairwoman of GOW Hj. Mipta Hulummi, as well as assistants, expert staff, heads of government agencies, subdistrict heads, and community leaders.

Held annually, the Silampari Night Carnival has now grown into one of South Sumatra’s most anticipated cultural events, even earning a spot on the national tourism calendar. For the people of Lubuklinggau, it represents more than just a city anniversary — it embodies love for their hometown and a shared commitment to making Lubuklinggau a creative and proud destination city of Indonesia.
